Upgrades in Diablo Immortal, enhances your Combat Rating and attributes through out the game. You can usually upgrade your items at the Blacksmith. Rare items can reach rank 5, Set items can reach rank 10, and Legendary items can reach the rank of 20. 

Upgrades in Diablo Immortal

By upgrading your Character's gear in Diablo Immortal, you get massive improvement when it comes to combat rating. By increasing your combat ratng, you increase your survivability in Hell difficulties, giving you bigger loot and XP. You can start upgrading right after you complete the storyline in Ashwold Cemetary. You can only upgrade your Set, Rare, and Legendary items by interacting with the Blacksmith in Westmarch.

What is the max rank for upgrading in Diablo Immortal?

The max rank for items are dependent on the rarity of that Item. Rare Primary equipment can reach the maximum of Rank 5, while Legendary Primary equipments can reach the maximum of Rank 20. Secondary Set equipment usually reach the maximum of Rank 10.

When to start upgrading in Diablo Immortal?

You should immediately start upgrading as soon as you can, because Diablo Immortal has a feature called "Rank Transfer", which is unlocked at level 19. This feature allows you to transfer the rank of a certain equipment to another with the same category. So upgrading as soon as possible will speed up your gameplay in the long run.

 

Primary Gear Upgrades in Diablo Immortal

It's important to remember that your key components for upgrading your Primary Gear will be Scrap Materials, Enchanted Dust, and Glowing Shards. You can upgrade your Rare Primary Items until Rank 5, While Legendary Items can be upgraded to Rank 20 max. Reforging may take place at Rank 6, 11, and 16.

Secondary Gear Upgrades in Diablo Immortal

For upgrading your Secondary Gear, the key components that you'll be needing are Scrap Materials and Enigmatic Crystals. You can upgrade your Rare Secondary Items until Rank 5, while Set items can reach Rank 10. Unfortunately, Secondary Gears cannot be reforged. Do take note that Enigmatic Crystals for your Secondary Gear upgrades are difficult to obtain, since you can only receive them by completing Challenge rifts and  when you rank in the top 10 teams on the Challenge Rift leaderboards.

Echo Crystal

Echo Crystals in Diablo Immortal, are used to enhance or upgrade normal Gems up until Rank 5. You can obtain Echo Crystals from the Crystal Merchant.

Scrap Materials

Scrap Materials are used to upgrade your equipment in Diablo Immortal. You can obtain Scrap Materials by salvaging your unwanted gear.  You can also obtain Scrap Materials from the Battlepass and the Hilt Vendor.

Enchanted Dust

Enchanted Dust is used to upgrade your gear in Diablo Immortal. It's used when upgrading your rare items in Diablo Immortal. You can obtain this by salvaging unwanted rare items, and by getting it as a reward from events and dailies.

 

Glowing Shard

Glowing Shards are used to upgrade your primary equipment in Diablo Immortal. You can obtain these as drops from killing monsters or by salvaging unwanted Legendary Items.

Enigmatic Crystal

Enigmatic Crystals are used to upgrade your secondary equipment in Diablo Immortal. You can obtain these by doing Challenge Rifts or by getting it as a reward from your Codex.
