Relentless vigilantes who wreak vengeance on the demonic horde with an arsenal of arrows, explosives, and mechanisms, while moving constantly out of reach of their foes.

Demon Hunter Information

The Demon Hunter is a heavy ranged-based class with a deadly set up. They specialize in dealing strong long ranged attacks and have the ability to take out clusters of enemies even from afar. Depending on the users preference, they can shoot a spread of projectiles that take up a wider multishot long range, or if preferred, they can also shoot a more powerful singular precise  shot at a target.

The Demon Hunter's attacks are fast paced and can potentially make them untouchable, not giving enemies a chance to approach. However, if enemies do manage to approach, the Demon Hunter may become overwhelmed because of their lack of melee strengths. This is added together with their lack of extra movement, with some skills accompanied by mobility debuffs and reduced speed. When overwhelmed, Demon Hunters do not excel at clearing hordes or being used as crowd control. They are best played with tactical positioning while attacking. The basic strategy when using this class is to keep circling around enemies while repeatedly using the Primary Attack as much as possible despite their lack of strength in mobility. This forces users to play with extra tactics and be more wary of enemy positioning as well as your own. When thinking about stats, its best to enhance their current talents by increasing strength to further maximize damage output as well as Armor so that they are not as vulnerable.

In a team, the Barbarian and Demon Hunter make a good strength combo, with the Barbarian dominating melee combat balancing the range of the Demon Hunter. Since the Demon hunter lacks the ability to clear closer large hordes, this is where the Barbarian will come in and clear them both making them an excellent combination. As enemies approach at a range, the Wizard will also do well to potentially control the pace of enemy approach at a range, making them both complementary ranged characters, as one can affect them with additional Damage over time or speed reduction debuffs and the other focuses on pure ranged damage doubling the effects on approaching opponents. Although this class excels as an aggressive unit, other skills to keep in mind when considering a team is the Smoke Screen which conceal your own location as well as your allies which can help with repositioning in combat when needed.

Demon Hunter Class Primary Attacks

  • Their main attacks will cause some mobility debuffs which is one of the main reasons Demon Hunters do not excel in mobility and rely heavily on good positioning and tactical movement. However, their primary skill, is great for a quick ranged attack when deploying a Crossbow shot, as long as users focus on their aim to keep a distance from their targets.
  • Once unlocked, their projectile becomes an Explosive Arrow which now expands into an AoE projectile attack, making it easier to keep your distance by potentially knocking back nearby enemies within the AoE.

Demon Hunter Builds

Demon Hunter Shooter Build

The Demon Hunter relies mostly on Ranged and Physical attacks, showing an array of ranged and projectile skills in their kit. This build will comprise of a set of high damage skills to make the Demon Hunter almost untouchable when starting out. The selected items will be unlocked at lower levels, which is perfect for beginner Demon Hunters. Starting with the primary skill, Crossbow Shot which is readily available at level 1, you'll have a ranged attack frequently available which will allow you to shoot an arrow for x to x damage while moving at reduced speed. To add to the ranged attacks the skills, Knockback ShotDaring SwingMultishot, and Rain of Vengeance have been selected for this build. Your offensive skills will include Multishot and Rain of Vengeance which will cover larger ranges and are ideal for clearing approaching hoards of enemies. To balance your offensive skills, Knockback Shot and Daring Swing have been selected to add a sense of control to the flow. In a situation where the Demon Hunter may start to be overwhelmed and may lack a space to back up into once too many enemies have approached and breached the ideal distance for attacks, these two skills are here to take the Demon Hunter out of a dire situation. Knockback can be directly used to knock nearby enemies away, clearing a path for the Demon Hunter, if this method wasn't successful, the Demon Hunter can also use Daring Swing to quickly reposition and then continue to switch to their offensive skills. To further enhance these skills, Flamespite can be added to turn Multishot attacks into flaming arrows which inflict burn onto enemies as well as The Hungerer which will allow the Primary skill, Crossbow Shot to pierce through enemies and pierce those behind as well. Each of the Armor and Weapon selections has also been added to further enhance or add additional effects to the chosen Skills, either stunning them, adding a status effect, or increasing damaging output to the current skills.

Starting Out

  • The main focuses for each character is to first find a better weapon than the starting set. Pick up any available weapons when you begin and once you can access the Blacksmith, have your equipment upgraded.
  • Most skills with the Demon Hunter prove to be great depending on the user's preference. To start out, players can consider the Skills, Multishot to widen their attack range and make it more beneficial to remain at a distance, keeping your new Demon Slayer away from overwhelming hordes, as well as Rain of Vengeance which can cover a larger area as well.
  • Claiming the Battle Pass will also get you ahead with Legendary Item collection.

Demon Hunter Lore

Demon Hunter in Diablo Games: "Those who call themselves demon hunters are not a people or a nation. They owe allegiance to no king. They are but a remnant – an echo – of those who’ve lost their lives to hellspawn. When their homes are burnt and their families butchered by demons, most newly scarred refugees give up on living – but a few bury their dead, band together, and swear vengeance.

Though they are small in number, hunters track and corner demons in the hopes that, if they can save even one life, their world will be better for it. At the end of a day’s hunt, most still close their eyes and have nightmares in which they see the horrors that brought them together: gore-caked claws, and men and women drowning in their own blood.

Awake, demon hunters see much the same. But, now, in the present, they finally have the power to retaliate. They dare not dream of victory, or, even less likely, peace. And yet, they hunt. They can do nothing else."
