What are the Type of Gems?

In Diablo Immortal, there are two types of Gems that you can find. Normal Gems, and Legendary Gems. Normal Gems yield bonuses to the various Attributes of your character, these can only be socketed into a slot of the same color of the gear. There are three different colors of Normal Gems, specifically the Red Gems, Yellow Gems, and Blue Gems. Normal Gems are socketed together with your Accessories or Secondary Gear such as AmuletsRingsBeltsGloves, and Boots. Normal Gems can be upgraded by increasing its rank to unlock more effects.

On the other hand, Legendary Gems for Diablo Immortal yield unique effects and increases your character's combat training. Unlike Normal Gems, Legendary Gems can be equipped up to a number of 6 at a time and is mainly slotted into Primary Gear such as your Weapons (Main Hand and Off-Hand) and Armor (Head Armor, Shoulders Armor, Torso Armor, and Legs Armor). Legendary Gems can be upgraded by increasing its Star Level up to a max of Star Level 10, and by doing so, it can provide better effects and can even "Awaken" a Legendary Item.

How do I find Legendary Gems?

Legendary Gems in Diablo Immortal can sometimes, be hard to find and will (at times), require you to grind. There are various ways for you to do in order to acquire a Legendary Gem:

  • Similar to Normal gems, if you have enough Platinum, you can buy Legendary Gems via the Marketplace.
  • If you have the required number of Runes and Platinum, you can craft Legendary Gems via the Jeweler.
  • Legendary Gems can also be acquired as rewards for reaching certain levels from the Battle Pass. But also take note that the battle pass have rotating rewards and items.
  • Partake in completing an Elder Rift and modify it by using Rare or Legendary Crests. By modifying the challenges or difficulty of these random dungeons, successfully completing it has a high chance to reward players with a Legendary Gem.
  • Use Fading Embers to purchase Legendary Gems via the Fading Ember Merchant. Fading Ember are resources that drop when completing an Elder Rift with a Rare or Legendary Crest. Take note that Legendary Gems that are available change each week.
  • Complete Daily and Weekly Objectives to acquire Hilts (currency). Use Hilts via the Hilts Merchant to purchase Legendary Gems.

How do I Rank up Legendary Gems?

Legenadry Gems in Diablo Immortal are vital to a player's build since it boosts the Combat Rating and Effectiveness of their character by socketing these gems into the Primary Gear such as your Weapons (Main Hand and Off-Hand) and Armor (Head Armor, Shoulders Armor, Torso Armor, and Legs Armor). Unlike Normal Gems, Legendary Gems increase its Star Rank, and by doing so, it provides more Resonance Bonus and at max level, awakens a Legendary Item.

To rank up a Legendary Gem, you will need to find duplicates of the same gem and you will need to have enough Gem Power, which is acquired by dismantling or destroying unwanted Legendary Gems (the higher the rank of a Legendary Gem that you destroy, yields more Gem Power). These are all done via the Apprentice Jeweler NPC.
