Skeleton King Strategies and Guides
Upon clearing the last room within the dungeon, the Skeleton King will appear. It'll jump right out the throne and either swing its giant mace around a single area or do an AoE attack, so it is recommended to wait out the boss's first attack before closing in or you can try to move away from the Skeleton King first when it jumps down. You will notice the AoE attack will happen when a blue circular sign appears on the ground indicating the range of the AoE attack, there will also be a voice queue where the Skeleton King Says "Bow before your rightful king."
When you've managed to bring the Skeleton King's health to 50-40%, he will summon a steed, mount it and use it in combat. It will now have access to a large AoE attack, with the same blue circular sign on the ground, only this time it covers more range. All the Skeleton King's move can be telegraphed so when you see the blue sign on the ground try to move away and attack from a distance or wait out the attack. It also has a move where the steed charges forward and the Skeleton King swings its mace at the same time. A blue line will appear on the ground indicating the direction where the steed will charge forth, getting hit will knock down your character and inflict instant damage. The Skeleton King can also summon enemies in the area to fight alongside him
Aside from fighting the Skeleton King, you would also need to worry about the three spectral walls surrounding the area as it will slowly start shrinking toward the center. Try to staw away from these walls as it deals damage. Once the spectral walls reached the center of the room and the Skeleton King is still alive, you and your party members will take permanent AoE damage until everyone in the party dies or until you've defeated the Skeleton King.
After defeating the Skeleton King, there's a chance it'll drop Legendary Item(s) and/or Set Items that will depend on your Magical Find stats.

The Mad King Leoric earned his place among the tyrants of history when he was driven to madness against his own people by Diablo, Lord of Terror. The horrors he committed in life would be rivaled only by those in his death should his restless spirit and his undead army return to Sanctuary.
